Given Hoffman | Using the Power of Story to Capture Hearts and Minds

November 11 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$25

When determining what genre (what audience) your story is intended to serve, there are three powerful elements that must be specifically chosen and carefully crafted within your story. Those elements are age (character), voice (style), and relevance (theme). Given Hoffman will  speak to these elements within the framework of writing for teens and will present how to use age, voice, and relevance to craft a compelling story for the YA audience. She will also show how these elements can be used to serve your story, speak truth powerfully, and create a deeper more meaningful connection with your readers, no matter what genre you write.

Presenter Bio: Given Hoffman is an author of YA suspense and action adventure novels, a podcaster, a past blogger on Biblical Worldview (with posts having reached over 120 countries), an article writer, a national speaker on communication and writing, and a fiction writing coach. She became a Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild Craftsman in 2013 and is an alumni of Worldview Academy and Ellerslie Discipleship Training. With over eight years of combined education in writing, communication, and Christian worldview, Given is passionate about giving back and helping others learn the skills to make their writing well-crafted, truthful, and engaging.
